Back in the 80s, men rocked crop tops and mesh like it was nothing.

    1. As an 80s teen I never really liked the crop tops but have to say the shorts are much better than now!

Maybe it was a US thing because I was in the 80’s and gay and I wouldn’t be seen dead in that.

Crop tops for sports, not just walking around. And those shorts are not that short, except maybe dude in the yellow. Get back in your time machine and push ‘the seventies’ if you wanna see short shorts for realz.

    4. At a time when eyeliner, mascara, hair product, sequins and heals were worn by men… This was considered super straight.

When the 1980s ended, being cool ended.

I will die on this hill. Especially regarding alternative fashions/music.

    6. My last employer had an 80s themed day.
4 guys wore similar to OPs pic.
It’s been 6 years since their last themed day.

Kids today wouldn’t understand how much more homophobia existed back then while guys wearing these crop tops were considered just athletic straight guys

    8. Because our diets then were about 2,000 calories a day.

Now it’s about 4,000 calories per day.

So Lara Croft was wearing a man’s outfit. What were people complaining about 🙂

    10. They surely did, including my father. In fact, he still rocks mesh shirts. He’s in his mid-70s. 🫣🫢

For anyone wanting more of these amazing fashion stylings, treat yourself to the 1983 classic, *Sleepaway Camp*. The only slasher where the men manage to wear less clothing than the women in almost every scene.

No they didn’t, trust me I was there and at least in England, this wasn’t a thing at all.
